Ninite offered the same service for both Linux and OSX at times, but is currently Windows only.
I run this on my parents machines whenever I come over to visit to make sure everything is up to date and running smoothly and have even done a trial of their Pro version at the office so see if it was worth the cost to keep our network installations up to date.
